I think this is such a cute idea to make gifts more personal or just to add fun sayings to projects or items you already own. Leigh Ann from Freckled Nest has a great tutorial on how to transfer your own handwriting onto anything you can stitch through.

I also found a free cross stitch writing tool that lets you type what you want to write in one of six stitches in order to print out a template to cross stitch at stichpoint.com. Just think of all the cool sayings you could cross stitch.......
