 If you love sweaters from Free People and Anthropology but don't love the price tag, here's a solution for you.  Go to your local thrift store find some sweaters and embellish them.  Here are some ideas for you.  You can use embroidery like the tutorial above.  Or for sweater cardigans you can use dye, rime stones, and ruffle trim (or make your own) like in the tutorial below.

The tutorial from Craftstylish makes me think of an adorable Lucky sweater I got (from when I was a specialist for them via Bloomingdale's).  Rose on Two and a Half Men wore the same sweater in one episode.  My cat broke off some of the beads that were sewn on before I ever got to wear it so I love that this idea has no beads.  I plan to examine my sweaters while unpacking them from storage for any good candidates.  This is a great fall and winter project.
